Description: Dimension: 16.1cm Diameter cm 6.5cmHeightCovered overall with thick bubbled light bluish glaze celadon glaze except the foot rim, this Longquan 龍泉窯made vessel is a ritual stand used for altar offerings for worshipping deities for the Buddhist and Taoist customs. This shape is rare in its kind as it is use solely for the altar usually containing flowers or fruits as an offering during rituals. The shape is has two sections, the trumpet top with molded 8 leaf petals with lobed mouth rim corresponding to the leaf petals while the foot stand is molded with overlapping lotus petals set in a recessed based which is similarly glazed with even light bluish celadon color. The foot rim is unglazed that reveals light grey paste and burnt orange at the junction of the glaze meets. The color leans more towards fenqing or powder blue color which is usually made with higher quality meant for the elite population or for tributary during trading in Indonesian waters for the king. Provenance: This piece is acquired from one of the islands in Riau Indonesia which is believed to be one of the ship wreck item similar to Shinan wreck in Korea.
