Description: Traditional Japanese Lacquerware Storage/Jubako Box. From Echizen. Has 3- tiers for storage and comes with original box and paperwork for items. Decorated with gold & orange Cherry Blossom Design. This item can be said to be the crystallization of Echizan Lacquerware techniques, and the beauty of the finish is mesmerizing. The wood is coated with a base called "Hon-Kataji (raw lacquer mixed with clay powder). The process of applying Hon-Kataji & polishing it after it dries is repeated many times. This undercoat is the most process intensive and toughest and is only used for some high-end Lacquerware. It stands approximately 6 3/4" high and is approximately 7.5" wide. There is one slight little scratch on the top of the box. And there is a small spot on the bottom of the back of the box. In overall good pre-owned condition
