It can handle some direct morning or late afternoon sun, but avoid harsh midday rays to prevent sunburn. If grown indoors, place it near a south or west-facing window. Watering Schedule:Water sparingly. During the growing season (spring and summer), allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water approximately once every 2-3 weeks. In the dormant season (fall and winter), reduce watering to once a month or less to mimic its natural dry environment. Soil and Potting:Use a well-draining cactus or succulent soil mix. You can create your own by combining:2 parts potting soil1 part coarse sand1 part perlite or pumiceA pot with drainage holes is essential to prevent root rot. Terracotta pots are highly recommended for their breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Temperature Requirements:This cactus thrives in warm temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Protect it from frost and cold temperatures below 40°F (4°C), as it is not frost-tolerant. Fertilizing:Feed with a diluted cactus fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Do not fertilize during the dormant period. Blooming Tips:With proper care, this cactus can produce stunning pink to magenta flowers during spring or early summer. To encourage blooming, provide plenty of bright light and reduce watering slightly in the weeks leading up to its bloom cycle.Unboxing and Planting Instructions:Carefully Unpack: Remove your cactus from its packaging, handling it gently to avoid damaging its roots or spines.Prepare the Pot: Select a well-draining pot and fill it with a suitable cactus soil mix.Planting: Position the cactus in the center of the pot and backfill the soil around it, ensuring the base is slightly above the soil line to prevent water pooling.Initial Watering: Wait 5-7 days before watering for the first time to allow the roots to acclimate and any root damage to heal. Why Buy Echinocereus Rigidissimus From Us?Healthy and Vibrant Plants: Each cactus is grown with care and inspected to ensure it arrives in excellent condition.Secure Packaging: We pack your cactus carefully to ensure safe transit and minimize stress during shipping.Comprehensive Care Guide: Each purchase includes detailed instructions to help you successfully care for your new cactus.Collector’s Quality: This cactus is a standout addition to any collection, with its vibrant spines and impressive flowers.Order Your Echinocereus Rigidissimus Today! Cacti should be then placed on moist soil (it helps to create an indentation for the roots). Soil mix should be chunky, such as with the use of cactus soil that includes rocks, lyca balls, perlite, sand, and soil. Soil must be well draining. All containers for plants must have drainage holes. Cacti are best watered from the bottom when the top soil has dried out. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking, and never let them sit in standing water. If your temperatures will be below 40 degrees, we do suggest using heat packs. We sell heat packs separately as an add on item: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335082078250
