This film will test your tolerance for bodily fluids. I mean it. Blood, sweat, ****, ****, spit, it’s all here dripping in every frame. Can’t forget vomit, there’s plenty of that too. You get scenes of people getting **** on, vomit missing the toilet (yum), and a frantic finale where Anthony Wong (in his greatest scummy role) literally keeps the police at bay by hocking infected loogies at them! Anthony Wong is pure ****ed up evil in this. A worthless man that hates everyone and is desperate for a f***. He does so much heinous shit it’s downright comical in a black comedy sort of way. Besides the multiple acts of rape (one of which is a dying African women which is how he contracts the virus), he also uses raw chicken as a makeshift fleshlight and serves it to customers the next day! He cuts up his (infected) victims and turns them into hamburgers, tries to set a child on fire, and at one point after he finishes raping a women he sucks out her eye and eats it. There’s nothing this man won’t do. Ebola Syndrome really is that film. A completely gross out, offensive, and extremely tasteless piece of cinematic filth. If at any point you think “they’re not going to go there” I assure you they will. Cannibalism, dead kids, rape, real animal death, a ****ing wide scale Ebola outbreak! It’s utter gutter trash in its truest form. On a lighter note, there’s also some great moments of gore. Early on there’s a savage testicle stabbing accompanied by someone’s tongue getting snipped off. A phenomenal decapitation happens later on, with Wong pulling a victim by his legs as his head is crushed between some doors, then pop! off it comes. Solid stuff. There’s also a facial degloving during an autopsy that’s always stuck with me for some reason. This film also has one absolutely killer stunt I’ve got to mention. It’s a full body burn which is cool by itself and incredibly dangerous, but they go the extra step by hitting the burning stuntman with a ****ing car! I can’t speak for the safety precautions on the set, but I hope that guy is ok. This and The Untold Story truly create the definitive scum double feature. I suggest trying it out, if you’ve got the stomach for it."
