Description: Early WW1 French Infantry Officer’s Jacket for sale. The jacket is a Model 1893 and was in place up until the early stages of the First World War, when the French switched to their iconic Blue Horizon uniforms. The jacket still has a maker’s tag - Angel Morris & Son of London, a costume tailor that also prodiuced military uniforms (mostly for the British). Early on in the First World War, the French struggled to outfit the influx of fighting men called up to protect France and imported large amounts of clothing material to help. It is most likely that this was from said era. The buttons contain the French’s flaming grenade and are stamped A.M & Cle Paris. The jacket is overall in good shape. The exterior and interior are both solid but the inside does have some wear and a few minor tears. There is a notable tear in the right shoulder but nothing compromising the integrity of the jacket. Overall a fantastic uniform that would make a great addition to any collection.
