This splendid, ravishing larger-size antique French fashion doll, with beautiful bisque and complexion, was produced c.1870 by François Gaultier in his factory near Paris. She stands approx. 21" tall, and is marked "6" on the back of the head and the shoulders. She has a pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with blue-gray glass inset paperweight eyes, pierced ears, an amazing handmade Bramble & Pinegar blond curled-and-braided mohair wig (that frames her face beautifully) over cork pate, sturdy gusseted kid fashion body with shapely torso, and gusset-jointed limbs, stitched and separated fingers, and overall very good condition. She has exquisite face painting by the Gaultier artists: dark painted eye liner, finely painted lashes, delicately feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed feminine mouth with accented lips, soft and even cheek color. She is dressed for a stroll on the boardwalk in a fabulous two-piece gown made of antique materials--mostly silk and lace--by a professional seamstress. It's absolutely stunning! She has three-piece underwear consisting of a chemise and two under-slips. To top it off she has a lovely headpiece of delicate net with lace and floral accents. She is wearing freshwater pearl drop earrings and holding a lovely bouquet of waxed flowers. Photo props not included: DOLL STANDDon't miss out on this incredible French mademoiselle! [ CONDITION... ] - Beautiful antique condition -- from a non-smoking environment.- No cracks or hairlines found with the bisque after careful examination.- What might appear to be a flaw or repair over her right eye is not. It is from the factory--a tiny uneven spot in the eyeliner that was not corrected before the firing process, and someone added a bit of flesh-color paint so it would not be apparent. This is noticeable on close examination. See final photo for a closeup. - Her kid leather body is sturdy and in good condition with typical repairs as shown. Her left arm attachment is a bit tentative from age, so it should be handled with care. - Her fingers show age, but they are stable with no repairs.
