Description: early 1900s Fabulous American Sterling Silver Large Caster / ShakerPresented is a fabulous American sterling silver large caster or shaker. This piece dates to the early 1900s. The shaker is done in a classical form, polished to a bright shine. The lid is pierced very thoroughly, so the shaker will dispense a good amount of whatever you choose to fill it with. Given the large size this is likely a sugar shaker or muffineer, but could be used for cinnamon, cinnamon-sugar, or whatever else you like. The underside is marked 'From the collection of Mrs. Nat Schroeder, Englewood NJ.' This piece is in excellent condition. The interior is clean as can be. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The caster is marked sterling on the underside. The caster is about 7 1/8 inches tall. This piece weighs 188 grams or 6.6 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
