Description: Pictured is an early true spatterware sugar bowl offered for sale. The yellow decoration is an infrequently seen coloration & has great eye-appeal. The decoration was applied to the top brim & the midsection area. It measures 3 1/2" in height, 3 5/8" in base diameter, & dates from 1835 - 1865. It's in excellent condition with no nicks or hairlines. As seen, there is discoloration to the interior base area. Likewise, the underside has been painted over, which appears to be an early attempt to cover a shallow flake or spider hairline. No attempt has made to clean the sugar bowl.
