Description: Offered for your consideration is a clear glass sugar bowl without lid made by Adams and Company (1861-1891) in often called "Prayer Rug" although the original name of this pattern is unknown. Also known as "Good Luck" or "Horseshoe", this pattern dates to 1881. The sugar bowl measures 4.75 inches (12.1 cm) tall and 4.25 inches (10.8 cm) in diameter. This sugar bowl has no lid but otherwise is in very good used condition with no cracks nor repairs. There is one bruised area in bottom of bowl, small chips and wear on bottom of base, and faint surface scratches. See photos. Sugar bowl is used so there may be additional signs of use. The glass is bright and clear with no cloudiness, discoloration, nor lime scale present. There is a noticeable straw mark on side of bowl as seen in photos, and there may be bubbles or other minor imperfections within the glass due to the manufacturing process used at the time.
