Description: This is one of 2 Dwight D. Eisenhower letters. Signed as President, listed tonight. The letter in its entirety: Dear Sig: Anne has just told me the distressing news of your sister's tragic death. I am so sorry. Won't you please convey to the other members of your family the deep sympathy of Mamie and myself? I also learn that you spent last weekend in various activities more or less on my behalf, or at least on behalf of the Republican party. I hope you realize how grateful I am - - and have been over the years - - for everything you do. With Warm regard, As ever, D.E. P.S., It looks as though the anti-inflation issue might be a primary point in the '60 campaign. Someone suggested to me the virtue of getting just the right phrase. Have you given the matter any thought? Dated July 2, 1959. It was sent on his official yellow DDE personal stationery from the White House. Please see my other Eisenhower letters from both Ike and Mamie, as well as other personal items from them and other important political figures, listed. ...........................................................................................................................
