Duke Ellington In A Mellotone LP UK RCA 1st Press 1959 ORIGINAL [Vg+/Vg]

Description: An original 1959 1st pressing of Mellotone on UK RCA. Matrix 1B/1B. Stampers 1C/1K - one of the first copies ever pressed. Tax Code "ET" which equates to a 1959 pressing. Note label design is strictly 50's and not 60's. Those distinctive horizontal lines and 'Made in Great Britain'. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1959 mono cover with flipbacks. Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In nice condition despite having seen moderate use. Expect a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or nasty. Plays mostly VERYGOOD+ on side 1 and shade lower on side 2 nearer VERYGOOD. A pretty good player. Good enough to enjoy - but expect a bit of background at times. One solitary pop each side. A few crackles in a couple of tracks side1 [Got It Bad/ Perdido] - nothing unpalatable. Side 2 has seen a bit more use so expect a bit of background here and there throughout. Not unpalatable, but anyone fussy will not like that. Cover (Vg) Some frosting apparent on the front image. The rear has avoided much of the ageing process. Flipbacks are all intact and secure.
