Description: Warning! In transmit mode this chassis generates dc voltage in excess of 300 vdc. It can be lethal if handled improperly, so please know, when purchasing, that you agree to accept full responsibility and understanding of the dangers involved, if not handled responsibly. That being said, there are no exposed high voltage points whatsoever, on the chassis exterior. This circuit employs two 1625 tubes, one for the regenerative receiver and one for the cw transmitter, plus a one transistor amplifier for increased receiver audio gain. I make these to order, so please allow about 12 to 14 business days for shipment once your order has been placed. The radio in the photos is a receiver only, but the dual 1625 transceiver is the same size and looks very similar to the regen radio. Many different color options are possible, so if you want something other than that pictured please inquire. Most anything reasonable I can accommodate. Plug-in coils are provided for continuous coverage, from about 3 to 12 mhz receive, and 80/40/30 ham bands, for transmit. You will also receive one QRP crystal for each of the three ham bands. The radio requires hi-z headphones, of the 2 to 4k ohm variety, either the old standard induction type or something of the hi-z piezo variety. Either will work. Headphones NOT INCLUDED in this listing, but I can supply the type shown in the photo in red. Please inquire about additional cost if you'd like this radio shipped with a headset. I typically use a standard 1/4" jack for the audio output. Please let me know if you need something different? The power required is 12 to 14 vdc. In receive mode, power drain is about 1 amp. When the front panel switch is flipped to transmit mode, the high voltage power supply is on, with a power drain of 2 to 3 amps from your external battery or dc supply. The receiver detector and transistor amp operates from two 9 volt batteries, which plug in battery snaps on the back of the chassis. I always use 9 volt Li-ion rechargeable batteries. No batteries or other power sources are included in this listing. Regenerative receivers will virtually always sound best if powered with a battery source. However, a well filtered bench power supply will also work fine for the 12 volt 1625 filament requirements. Receiver controls are main and fine tuning, antenna coupling and a reaction/regenerative control, which also has the power on/off switch. Front panel controls are also provided for transmitter tuning, along with a crystal socket, located on top of the chassis. I guarantee this radio will work if you hook it up properly with appropriate power supply and a good antenna. Shipping to the US only.
