Description: This rare gem quality fossilized Tampa Bay coral cabochon has sparkly druzy crystal quartz points across the front and the back of the stone is also a shiny smooth agate! Quite a hard exotic fossil, it will work beautifully as a statement piece set in your next pendant, bracelet or bolo jewelry design. ❤️ Cut and signed in 2004 by master jeweler Don Dietz. Freeform shape: 50 mm x 36 mm x 12 mm 💎 The official State Stone of Florida, Tampa Bay Agatized Coral is the fossilized remains of ocean creatures from 25-38 million years ago. Our collection of rare ocean coral was collected in the Tampa Bay Area between the 1960’s through 1970’s. Before being made into a gemstone, this coral stone looks like white sandy limestone rocks - the treasure is on the inside! The raw stones are tumbled for 30 days, sorted, ground on lapidary wheels or sliced, then tumbled for another 30 days, sorted again and, in some cases TUMBLED AGAIN! Quite a long process for a gorgeous outcome. Please take a look at the photos for details and feel free to ask questions. I'm happy to help! 🙂 There are many more exciting gemstones and collectibles in Tristina's Attic. So, please take a look around and follow the store for easy access to new items added weekly.
