Description: Drosera binata or the "fork leaved sundew" is an easy-growing carnivorous plant native to Australia and New Zealand. The "multifida extrema" variety is known for the way its leaves will fork multiple times on mature plants, instead of the simple shape of the standard D. binata leaf. These plants are NOT YET MATURE and have not begun producing many-pointed leaves yet. Sundews are carnivorous plants that trap insects on their dewy leaves, which are covered in sticky tentacles. This plant will have 2-3" leafspans. Mature specimens will grow leaves over 6"" across. BARE ROOT plants must be potted immediately on arrival. Pot in a clean plastic pot using hydrated long fibered sphagnum moss or a carnivorous safe peat based mix. Do NOT repot into regular potting soil or fertilizer. Carnivorous plants have sensitive roots and this will kill them. Pot only in long fibered sphagnum moss or carnivorous safe peat mix. Sundews must be kept wet. Water using the tray method: keep the potted plant in a tray with an inch or two of distilled water or rain water. The water will soak up through the soil to keep the plant hydrated properly. Sundews are high light plants. Keep in a bright, sunny windowsill or under grow lights, or outside if your temperatures allow. Non-perishable supplies will be shipped USPS First Class or Ground. Live plants will be shipped Priority on Monday - Wednesday to avoid damage from sitting in the post office over the weekend."
