Description: Estate Palm Beach Florida Unsigned watercolor I got this following information provided by the family Chronology - JANE CARTER 1938- -AB degree in Journalism from West Virginia University. 1939-41 —Maryland Institute of Art. 1941-43 Art Students League, 1943-46 —Studio in Florida; taught creative painting at Norton Gallery and School of Art, West Palm Beach, Sketched in county schools in Georgia which were under Rosenwald* Foundation. 1947- —Taught Clarksburg, W. Va. Art Genter classes ; sketched in coal mining area, Painted in New Hope, Pa, and in Bavaria. Tour of Italy• 1848- -Worked in Wiesbaden, Germany, using expressionism to release impressions of Post- War era. Sketched in Army Hospital Wards, 1949- • -Return to New Hope, Pa and influenced by delicate control in Lloyd Ney's nonobjective work. Two collages were given to Guggenheim Museum by a collector. 1950-52 -South Carolina Air Base, study of painting techniques ; taught locally and organized exhibit program and lectures at Base Officers Club. 1952-55 Studio in Southern Pines, N.C. : taught at Fort Bragg, and served as Chairman of Southern Pines Library Art Gallery, organizing it and establishing its policy and position in the state.
