Hotel Lexington was built on Lexington Avenue in New York City in 1929 by the famous architectural firm of Schultze and Weaver. It was so luxurious that it attracted global leaders, international celebrities, major business executives and famous sports icons. Dorothy Lamour lived there. So did Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio during their brief marriage in the 1950s. In its early years, the hotel's world-famous Hawaiian Room featured live hula performances.
