Item Summary: Founded by radio personality Sucio Smash (who took over the slot of the legendary Stretch & Bobbito show on 89.9 FM NYC), High Water Music is set to be a major player in the indie Hip Hop scene in 2009. On the heels of their critically acclaimed John Robinson and MF Doom's "Who Is This Man?" release, they are now ready to release DJ Spinna's new album Sonic Smash. DJ Spinna, born Vincent Williams, has "remained strictly an underground artist despite his astonishing talent". He began experimenting with turntables at age 11 and is known for combining dance music with Hip Hop, Funk, and Soul. Over the years he has worked with many heavyweights such as De La Soul, Mary J. Blige, and Stevie Wonder. He also collaborated with Eminem on the songs "Three Six Five", "Watch Deez" and "5 Star Generals", well before the latter went on to super stardom. After releasing some projects with Rawkus, he was part of Jigmastas with the MC Kriminul, and then became a member of Polyrhythm Addicts, an underground Hip Hop supergroup, consisting of himself, Apani B, Mr. Complex, and Shabaam Sahdeeq. More recently Spinna has also worked with New York based live house music band Tortured Soul. This release marks DJ Spinna's first Hip Hop album in 10 years and features appearances by John Robinson, Elzhi (Slum Village), Phonte (Little Brother) and Breeze Brewin (Juggaknots) to name a few.
