From 1998 to 2004, he chaired the committee on Eurocode 7 on Geotechnical design, and from 2013 to 2017 he was the President of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).Fahd Cuira is the Scientific Director of Terrasol (Setec group), a major consultancy in geotechnical engineering in France and abroad. He is a recognised expert in complex soil-structure interaction problems under static and seismic loads. He is the author of several software packages widely used in France, dealing with the design of foundations and retaining structures.
