Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE "Denver and Rio Grande: The Early Years" is Mal Ferrell's pictorial history of the beginning and middle years of this mainline narrow gauge railroad that went "Thru the Rockies, Not Around Them", as the publicity office said. La Veta, Marshall, Monarch and Cumbres Passes are here along with Denver, Leadville, Gunnison, Alamosa, Durango and Salt Lake City plus the standard gauging of Tennessee and Soldier Summit Passes. With tons of b/w photos, color plates, maps and mementos to illustrate the details and capped off with an illustration index, the history emerges. David Fletcher has contributed several of his exquisite color renditions of early locomotives (see Photo #3 for an example). This 328-page 12" x 9" super-size horizontal-format hardcover book was published in 2018 by White River Productions. The book is brand-new, still in shrink-wrap, with no damage to the book or the dust jacket. The photos are of an opened book. This book will be packed and shipped in our bulletproof manner. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad for their restoration and maintenance projects. Be sure to see our photo collections at NGTrainPics.PhotoShelter.com.
