Description: Dendrocalamus giganteus 12” Diameter @ Maturity! 1 Division / Starter Plant This listing is for 1 bamboo division. Basically, a division is result of the propagation process we use when we are creating more inventory to sell. We take a mature plant and divide the roots into smaller sections, each with at least one cane. The division may or may not have leaves - we will trim the cane at the 1st or 2nd node and it will be 9 to 18 inches tall. We have very good success with these divisions survival and we would expect you too as well. The 4th picture is an example of several bamboo division and you will receive one that is similar to these examples. If you are looking for the “Giganteus” Bamboo, you have found him! Reported to be the largest bamboo in the world. With the right conditions, this guy can grow to a whopping 12” in diameter and 100 feet tall! Wow! At first I thought that this specimen was too large for my property, but I am so glad that I did welcome him into my landscape – simply put – Magestic! His leaves are quite tropical in appearance and can be 20” long and 4” wide. In many parts of Asia, this bamboo is used for structural support of buildings. I plan on using some of my canes for a Tiki Hut once I have enough! I have been told that you can use the large leaves for the roofing of the Tiki!Giganteus is hardy down to 25 degrees with no damage and can go lower with some top growth die back. Root death occurs at 5 degrees.Your plants are guaranteed to arrive safely and alive. If you have any issue, please advise within 24 hours of receipt along with a picture of the plant in question so that I may file a claim with the carrier. No shipments to Arizona or Hawaii
