Description: Delights from the Garden of Eden: A Cookbook and a History of the Iraqi Cuisine. Greetings folks, Welcome to my latest offering.Up next for your consideration is a "good" copy of... Delights from the Garden of Eden: A Cookbook and a History of the Iraqi Cuisine written by Nawal Nasrallah This edition of this cookbook is the highly acclaimed edition. and most sought after.Gaining more popularity each day. Revised 2/10/13. Incredibly rare. This book appears to be in "good" condition. No writing or missing pages, strong spine etc.A few page creases on the top corners at the very end of the book and back cover. The back has a very large crease on the left corner and from pages 625 to the end.(Please see photos of the actual item you will be receiving)This book is very thick but thinly produced as a softcover. The front and back have some wrinkling starting from the spine inward.(I think due to the way it was manufactured, almost like a moisture stain, but there are no stains)Very both front and back are like this, I can only assume this is the way it was as new.(this does not show up in the photos) Very odd...Please be aware of this before purchasing. "Delights from the Garden of Eden is especially and unreservedly recommended for personal, family, professional, and community library Ethnic Cookbook collections." Wisconsin Book Watch, Reviewer's choice. This new Iraqi cookbook contains more than four hundred recipes covering all food categories. There is ample choice for both vegetarian and meat lovers, and many that will satisfy a sweet tooth. All recipes have been tested and are easy to follow. Introducing the recipes are thoroughly researched historical and cultural narratives that trace the development of the Iraqi cuisine from the times of the Sumerians, Babylonians and Assyrians, through the medieval era, and leading to its interaction with Mediterranean and world cuisine.Of particular interest are the book's numerous folkloric stories, anecdotes, songs, cultural explications of customs, and excerpts from narratives written by foreign visitors to the region. Arabic calligraphy, and photos, paintings and sketches add to the pictorial appeal of the book.
