Performed by the English Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Sir Anthony Lewis, with the St. Anthony Singers and Thurston Dart - harpsichord continuo. The performance, which took place in 1966 featured Angela Hickey as Aricie and Robert Tear in the role of Hippolyte. With Sylvia Rhys-Thomas, Janet Baker, Patricia Bland, Rae Woodland, Edgar Fleet, John Shirley-Quirk, Gerald English, Roger Stalin, John Whitworth, Keith Erwen, John Noble, Nigel Rogers, Jill Gomez and Christopher Keyte in title roles. This set, which comprises of two CDs and libretto within a fat box case with all original covers, remains in excellent condition. The discs themselves remain in beautifully clean, blemish-free condition. The libretto is clean and vibrant. The covers are entirely clean and sound. The case is original and whilst this remains in sound condition, it does carry some light surface marks caused by age and storage. The complete opera has a performance time of 146.05.
