Description: Danvers State Hospital, Rare 1880s Photogravure & Essay. Lunatic Asylum Mass. Please note the first page of the essay is missing as the description of the hospital starts mid sentence. These documents measure approximately 11" x 14" with the actual image being approximately 6 1/4" x 8 1/4". Both are original 1880s documents and were presented to members of the Massachusetts State Government at the time. These were not intended to be owned by the public. The essay (please see note above about a portion of the essay missing) gives a brief overview of the hospital and lists prominent staff. The elevation print offers a spectacular detailed view! This print appears to have been previously framed with a slight discoloration around the perimeter of the image. Please review photos and feel free to ask any questions.
