Description: I didn't know anything about Danish silver until I got this fork and did a little research. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong about anything! This listing is for a silver fork in the Herregaard pattern by Cohr. This is not quite sterling, it is 830/1000 parts silver instead of 925/1000 parts silver (sterling). The three tower symbol shows that it is Danish silver, the CFH mark is the assayer's mark (for Christian H. Heise who was the assay master in Copenhagen from 1904 to around 1932), and the CMC mark is the maker's mark (Carl M. Cohr). This fork is about 7 5/16 inches long and is engraved with a name and date (1930) on the back of the handle. The pattern is a little bit worn in some places. The tines are fairly even but do show a little bit of wear from use. Not returnable, so feel free to ask questions before purchasing. Thanks for looking! From a nice fellow eBayer: Just FYI: your information is correct. In addition, if you look at the oval with the three towers you will see two numbers underneath the towers which represent the year of manufacture. For example 40 = 1940. I can’t see in the photos what those numbers are. This system was in use from early 20th century until 1977. Good luck with it!
