Description: This lithographic print was made from an original creative reproduction of the Salvador Dali masterpiece, "Anthropomorphic Cabinet” Currently residing in Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf, Germany 1936. Oil on wood panel painting. 10 x 17 inches, 25 x 44 cm. Regarding the art, is was considered a manifestation of Freudian internalization and reclusion, the woman (with draw-handles for nipples) is engrossed by the drawers that have spontaneously opened from within her, threatening to disclose their contents“ her interior world”, a white cloth protruding from one. In this sense the anthropomorphic cabinet becomes a symbol of psychoanalysis. This motif appears in other forms in Dali's work such as the sculpture/furniture piece “Venus de Milo with Chest of Drawers” (1936/64) which stands near Anthropomorphic Chest of Drawers in Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen (K20). Lithograph is printed on 13 x 15.5 inch paper and image size is 11 x 14 inches. This is one of a Limited Edition printing of 300. Shown framed for display purposes only and not included.
