Description: This listing is only for the wood stock – the firearm mechanism that is pictured is not included This stock was made to fit a 22lr Savage 62 with a bad stock, bad magazine housing and broken triggerIt might also fit a Lakefield 22 or a Savage 64Mine is only a single-shot but the wood could be carved out if yours still has the magazine housingIf you carve it out for a magazine, be sure to triple check everything for proper function and safetySome of the pictures show the chamber bottom filler I made out of aluminum to make it a single shotSince the semi-auto slide is still used, the blow-back semi-auto brass extraction and trigger re-cock still workThe wood is carved out so the original Savage 62 safety works properlyThe overall length of the wood stock with the Savage 62 mechanism with the 21" barrel is 31.5 inchesThe wood stock alone is 18” long and weighs 13 ouncesThe grip is shaped for a right-handed shooterA left-handed shooter will have trouble reaching the trigger but it could be carved out to workThe mechanism is trapped in the stock at the rear by an angled tabThe steel is included for you to fabricate the tabThe front bolt from the original mag plate fastens the stock in place The core wood is walnut and the cheeks are poplar with a cherry stain and urethane finishThe finish is OK but not as nice as I wanted, so I am building another one to replace this one This listing is only for the wood stock – the firearm mechanism that is pictured is not included
