This is The Chartered Bank January 1, 1980 ten dollars currency note. The note was printed by Thomas De La Rue Company Ltd. and is green on multicolored underprint on the front with the image of stylized carp fish to the right. The front also has the denomination spelled out in the center and in numbers in the top left and bottom right corners. The note also has two signatures on the front. The back is green with the image of a building to the left and arms in the center. This particular note has the serial number Q776033 displayed in black twice on the front. The note is dated 3st January 1980. The banknote has a watermark, which displays a helmeted warrior's head along the left edge. Size: The banknote measures ~5 7/8" by ~3 1/4". Pick Number: P 77a. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice about very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. It shows considerable circulation with many folds, creases, and wrinkling. The paper displays considerable soiling and exhibits some softness. The edges of the note do not show much handling but minor nicks at the ends of the folds. The note has no tears, no splits, no graffiti, no pinholes and no large objectionable stains. The note's colors are clear and fairly bright. The corners are intact but have some rounding. We believe the note may have been flattened.
