Her literature and culture research interests include 18th- and 19th-century studies with a focus on questions of gender and nationalism, Spanish Realist Novel, Emilia Pardo Bazán, Transatlantic Studies, Galician Studies, and Poetry. Honored with the 2010 Texas Tech Presidents Excellence in Teaching Award, Dr. Pereira-Muro is a referee for LETRAS FEMENINAS and a referee and member of the editorial board for CÉFIRO. She earned her B.A. from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Spain and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
