Description: Whole Set: Soft cover. Condition: New. 5th or later Edition. All three of C.S. Lewis' profound science fiction novels in one place. "The Space Trilogy" is an astonishing collection of stories that have an adjacent theme, but can be read singly. These books were written at about the same time Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and is in part Lewis' version of the same sort of narrative. There's an interesting historical rabbit hole on that subject. As such, rare copies and editions with rare covers are especially valuable. The books follow Ransom, based around Tolkien, a philologist who encounters a series of astonishing events that alternate between science fiction and fantasy, ultimately demonstrating the true link between the two in the series' final installment. All three books are in excellent condition, and are expected to increase in value as, in particular, That Hideous Strength becomes more popular. An excellent addition to any collector's library, a fine adventure worth reading, and certainly a collection worthy of investment. That Hideous Strength: Soft cover. Condition: New. 5th or later Edition. The third installment in C.S. Lewis "Space Trilogy", That Hideous Strength can be read by itself or as a companion to earlier installments. It's a dystopian novel in the tradition of 1984, Brave New World, and Animal Farm, but it is even more accurate. The book depicts a scientific technocracy run by elite practitioners at the highest nodes of power. It has an uncanny resemblance to the hysteria surrounding COVID-19, and given its authorship in the first half of the 20th century, this is especially notable. C.S. Lewis wrote the trilogy, of which this book is the final installment, at about the same time Tolkien was working on the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Protagonist Ransom is even modeled after Tolkien as a philologist. The book is in near perfect condition, and appears not to have been read since it was first put on shelves. It has a rare cover, and is certainly a collectible for anyone that loves C.S. Lewis, dystopian fiction, fine sci-fi, or any adjacent category. Whether as a gift, or to read, or as a display piece for a collection, this is a fine book. Finally, it is growing in popularity, and will likely appreciate in value over time. Perelandra: Soft cover. Condition: New. 5th or later Edition. The second installment of C.S. Lewis' "Space Trilogy" is said to read like a literary version of a Botticelli painting. It's a novel that imagines what it would have been like if a race made by God didn't sin by breaking God's law. The book takes place on Venus, it's a beautiful adventure, and it's the sort of thing you read again and again. However, this edition is collectible, and is primed to be an excellent piece for display rather than enjoyment. Regardless, it's a fine book for a collector or a lover of C.S. Lewis. Out of the Silent Planet: Soft cover. Condition: New. 5th or later Edition. This is the first in C.S. Lewis' "Space Trilogy". He wrote it around the time Tolkien wrote the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and this influence can be seen in the character of Ransom, a philologist in Lewis' novel, and the protagonist. Ransom is based on Tolkien. This book is in excellent condition, like new, and appears not to have been read before. This is the twenty-sixth printing.
