Description: this is one of the best "antique cow oil paintings" that I have ever had - in this painting we see a wonderful group of cows walking through a small stream & grazing in an adjacent field - the very talented artist's style is "realistic" where he created this group of cows from every possible angle complete with contented expressions on their faces - some of the cows are brown & white with some cows appearing to be gray-brown, white & brown in color - near the cows leaning on a wooden fence is the cows' herder - the colors of the cows are juxtaposed against the dark green foliage of the many trees situated behind where the cows are standing - these colors in turn are contrasted against the dark gray clouds in the sky behind the dark green trees & foliage - these contrasts create a dramatic rural picture for the viewer - the painting measures 16" x 20" sight size & is in very good antique condition considering that it is approx.135 years old - it is greatly enhanced by its original gilded wooden frame which measures 19" x 23" & which is in very good antique condition also -
