Description: It's a short book but really gives the reader a good understanding of the F4U itself, its importance in World War Two and (as the title suggests) some of the many men who flew this airplane into history, becoming aces in the Pacific Theatre. It contains some technical info, some history and a whole lot of first-hand accounts of how this fighter was flown in combat against the Japanese. If you are interested in WWII aircraft in general, you would enjoy it. If you always had a special spot for the "bent wing bird," or used to watch "Baa Baa Blacksheep" on TV many years ago, you will likely read this fine book in one or two sittings. Very good condition, shelf wear to dust jacket including minor rip on bottom (see photo), pages clean and unmarked, binding intact, from a smoke-free home.
