Description: This vintage portable Corona 4 typewriter has a serial number of 6K08458, which dates it to November-December of 1926. This typewriter is very clean and in good overall condition. The finish is still in good condition, though it does have a few spots of missing paint and minor scratches but no noticeable dents or dings. The decals are still in good condition. There are no broken or missing glass keys; some of the keys are slightly rotated. The chrome shows no signs of corrosion or rust. There is a spot of rust on the underside of the typewriter (see photo). The carriage and space bar both move freely, and the platen is in good condition. The typewriter does type (see photo) but I'm quite sure the ribbon is not correct for the machine as the ribbon refuses to advance when I am typing. The spool holders and covers are in good shape, but the ribbon doesn't engage with the ribbon spindle and therefore won't turn. Almost all of the keys work fine. However, the period is a dead key, and the P key is bent and needs to be straightened out (see photo). The backspace key doesn't work. The feet on the typewriter need to be replaced. The typewriter is very dirty and definitely needs a thorough cleaning and oiling! The case has taken a beating over the years. However, it has done its job very well and protected the typewriter! The lock on the case doesn't seem to work, but the outer latch holds the case shut. The original handle is a bit worn but still in tact. The case measures 13 inches across, 13 inches from front to back (including handle), and 4 3/4 inches deep.
