Description: THIS IS A FINE "FAIR HEBE" PITCHER MADE BY BRITISH COMPANY COPELAND & GARRETT WHO WERE IN BUSINESS FROM 1833 TO 1847 AND IT IS ATTRIBUTED TO R. GARDNER, FENTON. THERE ARE SIMILAR EXAMPLES IN THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM. WE ARE INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE THAT HAS ALL OF THIS INFORMATION WRITTEN DOWN. THIS ONE FEATURES A TREE TRUNK WITH HIGH RELIEF FIGURES DEPICTING A DALMATIAN DOG BESIDE A BRITISH MAN ON ONE SIDE AND ON THE OTHER IS A MAN OFFERING A BIRD'S NEST TO A WOMAN. THE COLORS ARE GREAT AND THE DETAILS ARE AMAZING! THIS IS A HEAVY PIECE. IT IS 8 1/4" TALL BY 8" WIDE FROM THE SPOUT TO THE HANDLE AND IT HAS THE "COPELAND & GARRETT NEW FAYANCE" IMPRESSED MARK ON THE BASE ALONG WITH THE NUMBER "6" INCISED. THERE IS A HAIRLINE CRACK UNDERNEATH THE BASE, AS SHOWN IN OUR PICTURES, THAT DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE AND IT'S JUST A FINE LINE THAT'S DARK — CONSIDERING THAT THIS PITCHER IS ALMOST 200 YEARS OLD THIS IS VERY MINOR! OTHER THAN THAT IT'S IN AMAZING CONDITION. PLEASE DISREGARD THE WHITE SPOTS AND FLASHES FROM OUR OVERHEAD LIGHTING. THIS IS A HIGH GLOSS PIECE AND THESE ARE ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO PHOTOGRAPH WITHOUT ANY WHITE SPOTS SHOWING IN OUR PICTURES BUT WE DO OUR BEST. OUR SHIPPING QUOTES INCLUDE INSURANCE. THANKS!
