Description: Scandinavian PotteryConnie Walther (1932-)Denmark Connie Walther stoneware bottle shaped vase impressed with the CW monogram to the underside of the base. The bottle is 7" in height and 3" in diameter. Excellent vintage condition.Connie (Conny) Walther was educated in Saxbo, 1948-1949, studied at the Arts & Crafts School (Kunsthandvaerkskole) in Copenhagen, 1949-1951, graduating as a ceramicist. She worked for Kahler Ceramics, 1951-1952, before opening her own studio at Birkerod.Connie Walther worked mostly with the production of handmade hard-fired earthenware, decorated with simple stamps and thick glossy glazes. In the 1960s and 70s she experimented with stoneware sculptures with large plastic forms that was composed of burned, unglazed, half geometric, half organic shapes of porcelain clay.
