The software will run on Windows 7, Windows 8.0 or 8.1, or Windows 10. While computer speakers or earphones are not required for any of the applications to run, it is recommended that the titles be installed on a computer with sound in order to maximize the impact of the software. The compact disk includes installation files for the following software applications: Tux Paint is an award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12. It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program. Children are presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them create colorful and creative works of art. (See photo) GCompris is an software suite comprised of more than 150 activities for children aged 2 to12. Some are games, some are puzzles, but all exist to help children learn. At the most basic level, the youngest children can play games designed to discover how to use a computer keyboard, and mouse; and recognize colors. Older children learn principles of science by navigating a ship through a canal lock, and running a submarine. (See photo) Sebran's ABC's presents each youthful player with colorful pictures, pleasant music, and gentle games designed to teach letters, numbers, simple math, and rudiments of reading. Six exercises display four possible answers. Choose the right one and it becomes a smile; an incorrect answer produces a frown and a chance to try again. The "How Many?" exercises introduce the numbers from 1 to 9. These are used in the Add, Subtract, and Multiply matching games, which each function at two levels of difficulty. In Pick A Picture one of four pictures matches a word; First Letter offers four possible letters completing a word. Your child can employ the skills gained in these exercises to play Memory, Word Memory and Hangman. Finally, the ABC Rain, Letter Rain, and 1+2 Rain games help train little fingers in using the keyboard. In order for TuxMath to defend his cities from incoming missiles, he must solve math problems within a designated time frame. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope. Just set your coordinates and go. It displays stars, constellations, planets, nebulas and others things like ground, landscape, atmosphere, etc. (See photo) TuxTyping is an educational typing tutor for kids starring Tux, the penguin. This educational game comes with two different games designed to teach the child to type, and have a great time doing it.
