See below. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Our One-Piece style grips will work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip frames). Fully illustrated instructions included for quick and easy installation.Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal. Unlike with One-Piece grips, the backstrap need not be removed to remove the grips for cleaning and maintenance of the revolver. Our Two-Piece grips include a free Conversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement. This requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Our aged grips feature an authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural aging process. Through this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and below the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person.
