Description: Offered is the 1946 edition of the Central City Play Festival. This was the 70th anniversary of the Central City Opera House. Although the Opera House was built in 1878, the Central City Opera House Association was not founded until 1932. All of the stars seemed to be aligned that summer, granting the company a near-perfect opening night and inaugural season, which at the time was called the “Central City Play Festival.” This is the 12th incarnation of the festival. Performances include “The Tales of Hoffman” and “Cosi Fan Tutte”. Included in this lot are the 36 page booklet, a four page brochure about the two performances and the stars, a different 4 page brochure about Cosi Fan Tutte, a small hand brochure on an upcoming performance of a comedy named “The Plays the Thing” and the mailer for the entire lot. The booklet and first brochure are very good. The second brochure was folded. The small handout is very good. The mailer is rough with tears and chips. Sold together as a lot only.
