Description: The constant civil wars in Colombia between 1860 and 1903, led to the interruption of communications and postal services; provisional issues were a necessity because the stamps issued for national use could not be distributed on time, a circumstance that was taken advantage of by some postal agents and individuals to create issues with a clear philatelic objective and achieved great interest, to the point that many of them were produced by people with a philatelic commercial interest such as Dr. Francis Nicholas, Río Hacha, Mr. Alfonso Almanza Postal Agent in Garzón, Zenón Lemos in Almaguer and others, however, these stamps circulated within the country and abroad. The provisional issues were produced in small quantities, which led to the production of “false provisional stamps”. Most current philatelic catalogues do not mention these issues, give little information or downplay their importance. The book in one volume is a compilation of the literature of this interesting period of Colombian philately, generally unknown. Hardcover book, 406 pages and more than 1000 color illustrations that can serve as a reference to expand research and as a reference for identification for the collector.
