Description: An incredible collection of two Art Deco era cigarette cases with amazing stripes of 14k gold and sterling silver bodies. Typical of the excess of the 1920s before the stock market crash of 1929, beautiful cases like this showed off wealth and luxury. Case One There is a circular cartouche in the upper left corner on the front with an engraved AFH monogram. A great example, there are strips of solid gold on both sides of the exterior of the case. Stamped "Sterling and 14k". Measures 4 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. Tactile, superb high quality item, nice weight at 119 grams. The interior is gold washed with a lift arm to hold cigarettes in place. This case can also be used to store cash or credit cards for a more modern day practical purpose. Good condition, signs of use, surface scratches and a few small dents. Case Two There is a a central rectangular cartouche on the front with an engraved HCF monogram. There are strips of solid gold in yellow and rose gold on both sides of the exterior of the case. Stamped "Sterling 14k Gold Inlaid". Measures 4.25 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. Tactile, superb high quality item, nice weight at 4.21 ounces (119 grams). The interior is gold washed with a lift arm to hold cigarettes in place. This case can also be used to store cash, business cards or credit cards for a more modern day practical purpose. Good condition, signs of use, surface scratches and a few small dents.
