The added thickness over .080. or .060 creates a SOLID shell that performs like ARMOR for your Blade! The extra thickness adds better Retention and a solid Lockup when Knife is put away. The .060 and .080 works well with sheaths, but limited in protection and functionality. A Kydex sheath made with .093 thick kydex completes the Sheath making it NOT only functional with excellent retention, but is added insurance as an Armor case that protects the tool you rely on for survival.
