Cold-Pressed Linseed Oil - 4 oz. - (for artists)

Description: 4 OZ. / 118 ML Plastic Jar of Cold-Pressed linseed oil. This oil painting medium is cold-pressed linseed oil that has been bleached with Fullers Earth to provide a lighter appearance of the oil. I use this exact linseed oil for most of my handmade oil colors (excluding my blue and white colors, which I use walnut oil for). I also use this linseed oil as a medium for when I am painting. Cold Pressed linseed oil tends to have a higher free fatty acid content than most commercially available alkali-refined linseed oils available. Due to this fact, cold-pressed linseed oil is a better option for mulling paint by hand as the pigment will wet easier and the resulting paint is less likely to experience oil separation in paint storage. Although more yellowing than walnut oil, linseed oil is the most durable and ideal vehicle for oil paint. Use this linseed oil for the following purposes: 1. Make your own paint by mixing it with pigments. 2. Mix it with tubed paints to improve flow of the paint or extend drying time. It can also be applied to sunken sections of a painting to bring the sheen back to life. 3. Mix it with other additives to make your own paint medium. CAUTION!
