Description: The Tiger I (Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. E) was a German heavy tank of World War II that began operational duty in 1942 in Africa and in the Soviet Union, usually in independent heavy tank battalions. It gave the Wehrmacht its first armored fighting vehicle that mounted the 8.8 cm gun (derived from the 8.8 cm Flak 36, the famous "eighty-eight" feared by Allied troops). 1,347 were built between August 1942 and August 1944. After August 1944, production of the Tiger I was phased out in favor of the Tiger II. This long-retired Cobi set is a model of the German Tiger I tank. The model is in great condition, as it has been used strictly as a display; there are no signs of damage or wear. The model is also decorated with additional stickers that did not come with the original set - two German crosses on the front of the turret (see attached pictures), and two labels, each saying "Tiger," on the back of the turret as well (see attached pictures); the model will arrive with the stickers, but, if you wish, you can easily peel them off without having to worry about adhesive stains (even if any traces are left, they can be easily removed with some acetone or isopropyl alcohol - speaking from personal experience). Despite what the front-cover image used depicts, the tank will arrive without the original mini figures with your purchase. However, you will receive the instructions booklet to the tank with your purchase.
