Description: COBI HMS Belfast #4821 HMS Belfast is a British Royal Navy light cruiser of World War II. She entered service on August 5, 1939. At the end of November of the same year, as a result of damage by a German mine, she was taken out of service for three years. From 1942, she provided cover for Arctic convoys. On December 26, 1943, together with the cruisers HMS Norfolk and HMS Sheffield, she repelled attacks by the German battleship Scharnhorst, which tried to break through to the Allied convoy. Stopping the Scharnhorst contributed to its subsequent entrapment and subsequent sinking. HMS Belfast also took part in the attack on the German battleship Tirpitz. It had been undergoing a major overhaul since June 1944. In August 1945, she sailed into Sydney Harbor, where she was found by the end of the Pacific War. From 1945 to 1962, with breaks for repairs, she served in the Far East, taking part in the Korean War, among other things. In 1966 it was designated as a residential hulk. In 1971 it was in danger of being scrapped. Thanks to the active attitude of the British public, this did not happen. It was anchored on the Thames and became a museum unit. Subsequent refurbishments extend its life. In cooperation with the IMW (Imperial War Museums), the COBI building block model was designed in 1:300 scale and faithfully reproduces the details of its historical original. The miniature battleship is as long as 64 cm / 25.2" long and 19.5 cm / 7.7" high. It has many moving parts, such as deck guns, rotating artillery turrets, rudders and propellers. The model has been covered with high-quality prints imitating ordnance and camouflage. The prints do not rub off even during intensive play. The kit comes with a black block display stand and a white plate printed with the model's name and scale. The plaque also features the IMW (Imperial War Museums) logo. The product will ideally serve as an exclusive gift for all lovers of history, naval militaria and naval science. It will look great on a desk, bookshelf or memorabilia shelf. 1482 high quality pieces, manufactured in the EU by a company with more than 20 years of tradition, meet safety standards for children's products, fully compatible with other brands of building blocks, printed blocks will not deform or fade during play or under temperature, clear and intuitive instructions based on drawings and icons, display stand and ship name plate, model scale 1: 300, designed in cooperation with Imperial War Museums Dimensions of the model with stand (L x W x H): 64 cm (25. 2") x 9 cm (3.5") x 19.5 cm (7.7") Package dimensions: 30.5 x 60 x 10 cm Age: 10+ COBI HMS Belfast #4821 HMS Belfast is a British Royal Navy light cruiser of World War II.
