He was a force in the “funk art movement” Bailey attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his B.S. degree in 1961 and M.S. in Art and Art Education in 1962. He taught for several years before relocating to California where his work expanded to include performance art and the museum Clayton Bailey’s World of Wonders.
