Description: Stunning hand-carved estate pipe from JT&D Cooke pipes with Cooke's distinctive sand-blasted texture on the briar wood. This pipe has a brass band and his famous hand-poured amber acrylic stem which many pipe enthusiasts find very comfortable . This Cooke pipe was carved prior to 1996 (hence the "& D" on the signature. D is for his ex-wife Debra who worked in the studio with him prior to 1996). Cooke pipes are hand made at his studio in Vermont and are highly sought after by pipe collectors. This Cooke pipe has a square outer bowl but is set as a diamond. Please note this is a pre-owned pipe and has been smoked and there are some darker spots on the bowl (see photos.) A great characteristic of this particular pipe is that the bottom of the pipe--bowl, shank and stem--are flat on the bottom! It sits beautifully! This JT&D Cooke pipe comes from the estate of an avid collector of luxury lighters and pipes.
