For further details kindly read item condition report and see the item gallery. If you need anything feel free to contact me prior to purchase. Sony A7RII tested OK item - buy with confidence. Any kind of adaptation excluding 35mm film (digital, video) are merely buyer's responsibility and liability so various "adaptation went wrong" kind of returns might not be accepted.Trivia: 'Version 3' or 'Third generation' Biotar 75mm lens otherwise known as 'Fat' due to its legendary chubby lens built and design. 10 blades iris. From Casual Photophile article (written by my friend using my photos):Version 3 – Commonly called The Fat Version, sometimes called Q1 Version (1952 – 1967) Serial number range 3,777,000 – 8,275,578The third version of the Biotar had a front lens of 55mm in diameter, a solid barrel with a heavily knurled or scalloped focus ring, a double distance scale, a minimum focus at 0.8 meters, and a weight of 500g. Although Version Three predominantly had ten aperture blades, the earliest preset models produced in M42 mount for the Contax S camera came with twelve aperture blades. The Fat Version was commonly used for x-ray and copy machines, so they can focus as close as the Thin Version, or closer, just by adjusting infinity to closer than infinity so that close focus is as close as needed. This version is occasionally called the Q1 Version because it bears the Q1 symbol which stood for Qualität 1. The Q1 symbol was a “Warenprüfanstalt” Quality Mark granted by the Office of standardization, metrology and product testing (ASMW) of the former Deutsche Demokratische Republik DDR (commonly called East Germany). The last known example was serial number 8,275,578, produced in Exakta mount in 1967. However, the 1969 catalogue for the Exacta VX 1000 still shows the lens for sale, so the factory must still have had stock on hand even after production ceased.Item condition: item fully refurbished (complete overhaul) by a paid professional. Very clean, smoothly running lens. Glasses in overall very good (VG) condition. Local ex fungus traces on front edge coating (Fig. 11) happening some time ago during the long lens life; sadly many classic Zeiss lenses does carry such marks (price adjustment -$100). A local minor scuff, micro scratch etc. can occur here or there but nothing dramatic at all. No deep scratches, no active fungus, no haze and no coating loss. Palpable inner metal structure Schneideritis (cosmetical, age related thing, no impact on photography). Remember visiting planetarium as a school boys? This is sort of how the inner metal looks like after 70 years! Chassis looks okay without major beatings or gnarlings (not mint, not terrible). Nothing of the abovementioned affects lens performance or ease of run.Accessories: an item with rich vintage accessories. Full scope of delivery as on photos.Adaptation: look for Exa/Exakta to Sony E, M4/3, (G)FX, N/F, N/Z, C/EF, EOS R, ... adapters for digital systems here on eBay.Testing: I run some brief 43 mpix. mirrorless tests at morning light (apertures 1.5-5.6). Results as under the item gallery. Clearly, this is an outstanding creative piece of glass especially for its era. The lens shows awesome central sharpness, quality contrast and, of course, fantastic bokeh and drawing. This is a private sale with no returns or refunds, hence I describe anything imaginable I found or noticed to avoid controversy and possible misdescription. If something really stresses me, it is an eBay return from the other part of the planet! If you feel there is something I missed or did not mention please contact me before the purchase for possible answers.Intl' expedited 1-2 day shipping is generally possible to most countries (UPS - USA, UK, CAN; DPD - EU) but was sadly matter of ramping up the price due to recent UPS pricelist update applicable on parcels going outside EU. Still, I choose speed over price especially for such a valuable lens. Cheaper alternatives are FedEx and Czech Post (go ask for details if you need to). Buyers from neighbouring or close countries to Czechia hence please quote for updated cheaper invoice prior to purchase (or after it).
