Description: Four original letters written by a South Carlina Cavalryman, William F. Jackson, too William F. Wickham regarding a horse he left behind at the Wickham's Estate, Hickory Hill, outside of Richmond. W.F.Jackson was in Co.B,2nd SC Cavalry. Nothing earthshaking here but all letters are signed and dated and a few have notes added by W.F.Wickham about the horse. W.F.Wickham is the father of General Williams C.Wickham. Hampton's cavalry probably camped out at Hickory Hill on their ride North in 1863. All letters are docketed by W.F.Wickham on the reverse.
