Description: This 3 bullet set contains bullets used by both the Confederate and Union Armies: A .58 Caliber Williams Type III Cleaner bullet, a musket round, and a .58 Caliber 3-groove Minie Ball (3 ring bullet). The cleaner bullet with a zinc washer was recommended to be fired every 12th round to scrape away the "fouling" in the bore of the rifle. The Minie Ball was developed by Claude-Etienne Minie meant to expand under pressure to increase muzzle velocity. The .69 Caliber musket round was used by both sides early in the war and highly inaccurate although easy to load and easy to manufacture around a campfire with lead and a musket ball mold.
