He learned the trade from his father and became independent to open a small workshop where he designed and made silver jewelry inspired by pre-Hispanic motifs that evoked the greatness of ancestral Mexico. The name of the brand itself was found in the novel Corazón de Piedra Verde by Salvador de Madariaga where the character Citlali tells stories to Xochitl, the daughter of King Netzahualpilli. Francis chose the word Citlali because of its meaning – morning star – and because with jewels he could tell stories. Little by little and with a lot of patience, only original designs made of silver have been added to the jewelry catalog, all of them made with artisanal methods since we trust that the human hand imprints a particular stamp that makes each jewelry unique.
