Description: Rare early work by the Swedish artist C Von Schneidau . The work title "2nd problem night school" dated 1913 as well as another unfinished but same image is also included, Colored pencil and pencil drawing 12" by 9" Christian von Schneidau (1893-1976) Born Sweden on March 24 1893 of noble birth. Von Schneidau received an early education form private tutors then studied at the Stockholm Academy of Fine Art. He immigrated to the United States in 1906 and spent the first ten years in Minnesota. He continued his art studies at the Art Institute of Chicago as a student under Reynolds and Buehr, and in the East under H.M. Walcott, C.W. Hawthorne, and Richard Miller. Finally settling in Los Angeles in 1917, he operated the Von Schneidau School of Fine Art for many years.
